Chapter 17

William sat on the floor humming quietly to himself as he basked in the afterglow of what him an Bjorn had just finished. Bjorn happy and well satisfied laid on the ground next to him sound asleep. Being utterly worn out from their activities that day.

{William: “I had never made it back to the kitchen that day both of us missing the evening meal as we had sex well into the night. I have to say I never would have imagined that I would be in this satiation ever. I simple English baker the lover of a savage barbarian with the sweetest green eyes you could ever imagine. “}

“Lad?”

William was brought out of his thoughts by the sound of his lovers voice. Looking down next to himself the baker could see Bjorn staring up at him. “Yes, what’s wrong?”

Bjorn pushed himself into a sitting position. “You were humming again.” He said facing the baker

“I’m sorry I woke you.”

“Don’t be I found it quite pleasant.” Bjorn wiped the sleep from his eyes. “Could you continue for me.”

“Um, alright.” William resumed his song humming softly.

‘Such a wonderful song.’ Bjorn thought as he listened. It always seemed to relax him in a way he had never experienced before. Smiling fondly he remembered the time William had sung the words to him. The lad had a beautiful voice regardless of what he said. He began to wonder if the boys mother had taught him how to sing like that. Hating to interrupt the song Bjorn regretfully spoke. “William, the song you hum was your mothers wasn’t it?”

“Yes it was… she sung it to me every night as a child.” William smiled remembering. “Me and her were very close.”

A knot of worry settled in Bjorn’s stomach. “Lad, were you with her during the raid by my people?”

William gave him a look as if he were mad then realizing that he didn‘t know he said. “No I wasn’t with her. She passed away a few years ago. She’s the one who left me my bakery.”

‘The one that was probably burned to the ground during our attack.’ Bjorn thought. “And what of your father? Is he gone to?”

The Baker got real quiet and drew his legs up to his chest best he could. “He… he died in the attack.” He finally said. “A friend who is a slave now told me his was killed right in front of our home.”

Bjorn closed his eyes mortified. If someone had killed his father even in by proxy he would never forgive them. No wonder the boy was feeling guilty about enjoying being with him at first. The large man though back to all his dreams about being a strong Valhalla raider. During all those fantasies he had never once given thought to the people he would have had to hurt. Now thinking back to how he reveled in the fact he was allowed to partake in the battle that day he began to feel sick in the stomach.

It was Williams friends and neighbors he had been killing. It was his home that he had torched to the ground. Bjorn found himself saying. “We rarely raid, because we are very self sustained but that gives us no excuse for what we did and I am truly sorry.” The large man quickly looked around searching for his shirt, finding it he grabbed it and turned it inside out then with a rough tug he ripped a part of it. When he did something small fell out into his hand. “William my boy I want tae give you this back.” He handed whatever it was to his lover.

William took the small item from the other man. As soon as it was in his hands he gasped realizing what it was. His mothers necklace. “Really I can have this back?” He asked not believing what he had been given. The larger man nodded. “Oh, thank you Bjorn.” Before he realized what he was doing he leapt towards the other man and wrapped his arms around the Valhallen’s neck and began kissing him repeatedly on the cheek.

Bjorn chuckled at the child like behavior of his lover. “Lad there’s no need to be thanking me. I stole it remember.” He reminded. William ceased in his kissing and drew back. ‘Why did I open my mouth.’ Bjorn scolded himself.

“Leave the past behind right.” William said. “Your forgiven trust me. I thought letting you take me so many, many times would have proven that. Or are you just to thick to understand.” The last sentence was said in a teasing tone and a glint of mischief in his eyes.

Bjorn tilted his head from left to right pretending to think it over. “Well maybe I am how about you prove it to me again?”

“I’d be happy to.”

************

“Keep up slave.” Bjorn said sternly as he led William through the streets of Valhalla.

William knowing they had to play their parts in public but sort of not liking the tone walked closer to the other man and gave him a hard pinch on the backside.

Bjorn had to bite his tongue to keep from yelping and turned around to meet his companions eyes. “Do that again boy an I’ll be taking ye behind of o’ these buildings and go at yuir ass.” He said his face showing mirth not malice.

William gave him a innocent look. “But if we did that we’d be late wouldn’t we?” He whispered. “And as much as I’d enjoy that we could get caught.”

Bjorn pouted but nodded returning his attention back to where they were heading. It had been four days since that day in the library and the pair were currently walking down one of the many streets of Valhalla making their way to a very special appointment.

The man Bjorn had sent to search for Julie had succeeded in finding the girl and had told them who had bought her. As soon as the large man had heard he gathered the baker and together they went off to buy her from whoever it was imminently.

After a good solid hour of walking the two men arrived at a large home roughly about the same size of Valhallen castle. “This is where Julie is?” William said observing the huge building. “Do you know these people Bjorn?”

Bjorn walked up to the front door and knocked. “Aye some of my fathers friends.” He responded to the bakers question. “A wealthy couple with a few sons.”

Hearing this William thought of something. “This isn‘t going to cost you a whole lot is it Bjorn?”

“Unfortunately it is lad. They’ll most likely ask for about eight or nine bags of silver for her.” Bjorn said nonchalantly. “But don’t you nay worry it’s not much for me. I am a prince after all.”

William almost choked on his breath hearing the price. “Eight or nine bags?” He said as Bjorn patted him gently on the back. “Bjorn I’ve never made that much in fifteen years of baking.”

Bjorn was about to laugh at the sound of shock in the other mans voice when the door swung open. A little old woman stood on the other side a toothless smile on her wrinkled face. “Oh! master Bjorn it is so good to see you again. Master Hagar has been expecting you.” She moved to the side to allow them to enter.

As William walked by her he felt a hand cup his backside. Surprised he spun around and saw the old woman with a sly grin on her face. “My, my when did you acquire such a cute boy master Bjorn?” She asked

William’s mouth hung open not believing what he had heard but Bjorn found the whole thing very humorous. “It was just a little while ago Agnus. A real looker isn’t he.” He teased. The baker snapped his mouth shut and glared at the larger man. “He’s got a temper on him though.” Bjorn said solemnly.

“A bit of a temper Is a good thing.” Agnus the old woman said. “Those kind of people tend to be voracious lovers.” William’s head snapped back towards the woman eyes wide. “If I were younger boy we would have a good time. But as it is I’m to old now and I have things to do. If you’ll excuse me master Bjorn, boy.” Having had enough of teasing the younger man she bowed to them and walked away.

“What the hell was that!” William said in a angry whisper.

“Sorry lad should of warned you.” Bjorn said trying to contain his mirth. “Agnus there is a bit of a…flirt. She’s hit on me a few times. because of her age she believes she can get away with it.”

“Your lucky I put up with you, you know.” William deadpanned. He didn’t like the teasing tone in his friends voice. “Let’s hurry ok I really don’t want to be here when she comes back.”

Finally taking pity on him Bjorn shook his head yes and pointed down a nearby hallway. “Alright lad I was told she works in the kitchen here so why don’t you go ahead and see her while I bargain a price.” He looked from left to right and upon seeing no one nearby he leaned down and kissed the baker on the cheek. “I’ll be there in a while.” That said the large man walked away

William allowed himself to enjoy the lingering heat from the kiss then made his way down the hall Bjorn had pointed out. It wasn’t long before he came to an open door with a pleasant sent wafting from it. Hesitantly peeking inside and saw a moderately sized kitchen within. As he entered he noticed that the room was deserted.

‘I wonder where she is?’ William thought to himself. “Maybe Bjorn was mistaken” Raising his voice he called out. “Julie are you here?”

After he spoke a surprised gasp reached his ears and Julie appearing as she did that day in the bakery entered the room from another doorway. “William is that really you!?” She cried standing at the entry. Seeing that it was her friend she rushed over to the pudgy man and flung her arms best she could around him. “I thought you had died during the raid.” The young woman began to cry on his shoulder.

William stroked her golden hair. “Shush, shush“ He said trying to comfort her. “No I didn’t die as you can well see. I was captured like you.”

“It was awful William we were attacked at our home by these barbarians and then after we arrived here they separated me and Andrew.” She looked up at him eyes full of tears. “I don’t know where they took him.”

Smiling proudly William proclaimed. “I do Julie.”

“You do?!

The baker nodded his head. “He’s working on a small farm. The owner is friends with the man who owns me. In fact that‘s why I‘m here right now. My “Master“ is going to buy you. That way you‘ll be safe with me and Andrew can visit you.”

“Really?” She asked not believing her ears. William nodded again. “That’s wonderful! My masters here are so cruel to me especially their son.” She cringed.

Noticing that William feared the worst. “He didn’t try to-”

“No he hasn’t done anything.” She said. “He one of the warriors here, a guard and doesn’t come home very often. But from the few times he has been here he’s made his intentions towards me very clear.”

William hugged her thanking god that they found her before anything happened. “Don‘t worry Julie no one will touch you where we‘re going. You‘ll be happy and well taken care of.” He said tightening the hug.

Bjorn hummed to himself as he made his way to the kitchen. After some sly bartering he had been able to haggle his fathers friends down to four bags of silver saving his money pouch considerably. Now all he had to do was gather his baker and his friend and return home. He smiled as he thought about the boy. William would most likely be very thankful for all he done today. Which meant that he would be very generous tonight when they were both in the bedroom.

“William you still in here boy?” Bjorn‘s asked as he entered the room. He came to an abrupt stop when he saw William and Julie hugging. The sight of his lover in the arms of a beautiful woman instantly brought out his jealously. The pair were embracing like lost long lovers. “William?” He asked glaring at the woman. “What is all this?”

“Bjorn were you able to buy her?” William asked ignoring the accusing question and releasing Julie. The woman instantly tried to hide behind the baker. “Julie don’t worry he’s the one who brought me here.”

Seeing the frightened look in the woman’s eyes Bjorn’s hard glare softened slightly. “Aye lad I was able to acquire her.” He answered. He drew his attention to Julie next. “Girl you are to go gather yuir belongings. You are leaving with us imminently.” He said in a authoritative voice.

Julie mutely bowed and scurried past him leaving the room. As soon as she had left William gave him a dirty look. “Why were you speaking so rough with her! She’s been through a lot.”

Bjorn remained silent for a few seconds he could tell he was suddenly in trouble for his tone but he had to know something. “Were you lying to me boy when you said you were a virgin when I had ye?”

William blinked at him a few times shocked by the question. “What? Of course I was why are you…” It was then that he realized what Bjorn was implying. “Your jealous of her?” he said almost laughing. “I still can’t get over how possessive you are.”

“Stop yuir laughing.” Bjorn snapped. He didn’t like being made fun of. “I am not possessive… it’s just that…well I-” As he spoke the baker’s smile increased with every word. “Alright so I am. But can ye blame me this is all new to me. I am use to just having sex wit a person and moving on to the next not caring if they had others. But I don’t think I could do the same with ye. I would kill anyone who dares touch you.”

“Honestly you don’t have to worry about that Bjorn.” William said. “I’m a loyal man so no one else will ever touch me. so stop it alright. Besides I‘d hate to see you pouting because I left your side.” The baker chuckled warmly and patted the side of Bjorn’s bearded cheek before walking past him and leaving the room to go help Julie.

Bjorn stood there for a few seconds smiling from the words and the simple touch until the younger mans words hit him. “Wait… pouting.” He asked. “Lad what do you mean pouting? I am a Valhallen warrior I do not pout!” the large man followed after the baker just as the younger man broke out into laughter.

{William: “Oh am I going to have fun with this? Time for a little revenge for not telling me about Agnus.”}

************

The walk back was a bit more quieter with Williams attention being drawn into trying his best to shield Julie from the stares she was receiving from the numerous Valhallens they passed by.

“I feel like a piece of meat.” Julie whispered into his ear.

“Don’t worry about it Julie.” William comforted. He knew how she was feeling. “Bjorn will protect us. He’s good at keeping his countrymen at bay with this sort of thing trust me.”

Bjorn who was walking a few feet behind the pair nodded at this. “Don’t you worry girl I’ll keep you both safe.” As they continued Bjorn glared at his countrymen knowing what they were thinking. He knew that most of them were sizing up the young women he was in possession of now. But that was not what was making him angry. What had him upset were the few stares that were drawn to his baker. They were hidden often just a quick glance but they were still there.

The lustful gawking really didn’t surprise him. Even though laying with a man for lust alone was considered to be shameful by most in his society. Forcing yourself upon an attractive slave regardless of gender did happen albeit in secret. They were considered no more then property and could be used as wished some believed. His boy was beautiful even if he was a man and if they weren’t careful some other could corner the baker and force themselves upon him.

With the peachy colored skin, sandy brown hair, and a nice meaty body it wouldn’t be that far of a leap for those men to imagine William as a woman. He had done that the first time they were together. He was very glad that he now knew how much better it was to drop the illusion and realize how much more attractive he truly was as a man.

“Mater Bjorn…” Julies voiced asked quietly.

His trail of thought lost Bjorn turned to the woman who had stopped and was looking up at him. “I… wanted to say thank you for helping me and for reuniting me with my husband.”

“Husband!” Bjorn choked. He believed she was talking about William.

“Yes my husband Andrew. William said you know the man who bought him.”

“Oh…Oh yes Rolf bought a man named Andrew. He’s… your husband right.” She nodded to his question. Bjorn sighed. “Yes I’ll ask Rolf to send him over for you alright my lady.” She gave him a happy smile then continued on their trek.

Drawing back a bit William got close enough to Bjorn to whisper. “Your cute when you get like this. I had no idea that the big and strong Viking warrior was so insecure.”

“I am not” Bjorn whispered back hastily. “And I am not cute understand boy.” The large man could actually feel his ears burning from what was just said.

There was a twinkle in Williams eye. “Oh but you are cute, especially when you pout like that.” He remarked.

A part of Bjorn didn’t like this teasing. If anyone else had said these things to him in the past he would have bloodied their nose or worst. But hearing this from the short man he saw it as a challenge. He would prove to William that he was not cute. “Tonight boy I will make you pay for yuir words.” He said merrily.

“I’ll look forward to that.” William responded a cheeky smile on his face.

************

After the group arrived at the castle Bjorn was approached by another Valhallen warrior, a bald headed man. The man stopped and stared at Julie for a second before whispering something into Bjorn’s ear. After the warrior was gone Bjorn quickly told William that his father wished to see him and walked away leaving William and Julie to their own devices. The baker wondered for a brief second what might have been going on but quickly shrugged it off in favor of showing his friend where they were going to be working together.

“Come on Julie your going to love the kitchen it’s really big.” He said as he led her through the halls.

“This whole building is a big place.” Julie commented as they walked. “How is the family here?”

“They’re alright I suppose.” William responded. “It’s just three of them here a father and his two sons. The father, Magnus is a bit of trouble so I’d advise you to keep away from him and the younger son Harald won’t bother you any so don’t worry about him. Then there’s Bjorn you’ve already met him.”

The young woman nodded. “Yeah he’s a bit odd. He kept looking at you the entire time we were walking. Have you two been able to become friends?”

William felt his face flush a little. “Um yeah friends… well here we are.” He said as they entered the kitchen.

As the pair walked into the room Aida greeted them both with a big smile. “My, my aren’t you a pretty thing.” She told Julie. “No wonder that big fellow from master Rolf’s farm was missing you.”

The younger woman blushed a little. “H…he has.” Julie asked a small smile on her face. “I’ve worried he would forget about me.”

“Of course he had dear.” Aida laughed. “When two people are truly in love they miss each other the moment they leave each others sight. Isn’t that right William.” The slave woman gave the baker a knowing look.

“Um, yeah I suppose.” The sandy haired man answered. “Not that I’d truly know.”

Aida eyed the young man for a few seconds before turning to Julie. “Come along girl I think it’s time I teach you where everything is. William you’d better get to baking, give this ones husband a reason tae come over.”

“Of course Aida.” William walked over to his usual spot looking over his shoulder quickly as Aida gave a small tour of the kitchen to Julie.

{William: “Am I in love with Bjorn? True I do miss him a little right now and I no longer hate him. We are lovers but am I actually in love with him? No, I can’t be. I want him, want his body, and his companionship but that’s as far as it goes. I’m sure of it… we only use each other for pleasure nothing more. And I don’t think he seeking to make this any more then that and as it is I’m more then fine with that. Besides he probably doesn’t even think about me when we‘re apart.”}
